Rangnick Open to Summer Move
Bundesliga Giants Seek New Head Coach
Austria manager Ralf Rangnick has confirmed that he has been in talks with Bayern Munich about the Bundesliga club's vacant head coach position.
Speaking to reporters after Austria's 1-0 friendly defeat to Croatia, Rangnick said: "I can confirm that there have been contacts between Bayern Munich and myself. We had a good conversation, but I cannot reveal any more details at this stage."
Rangnick, 64, has been linked with the Bayern job since Hansi Flick left the club at the end of last season. The former Manchester United interim manager has a reputation for developing young players and building successful teams, making him an attractive candidate for the German champions.
However, Rangnick also has a contract with the Austrian national team until 2024, and it is unclear whether he would be willing to leave his current role before then.
Bayern Munich are reportedly keen to appoint a new head coach before the start of next season, and Rangnick is thought to be one of the frontrunners for the job. The Bundesliga giants have a long history of success under former coaches such as Pep Guardiola and Jupp Heynckes, and they will be looking for Rangnick to continue their winning ways.
